Notebook, Junglee Box-Office Collection, Day 2: Still Hardly Any Readership For Pranutan's Love Manuscript, Awe For Vidyut Jammwal's Heroics However Rises A Bit
Salman Khan’s production, Notebook that launched two new faces, Pranutan Bahl (granddaughter of yesteryear actress, Nutan) and Zaheer Iqbal started off on a slow note and is showing no chances of good growth at the box-office. The movie minted Rs 80 lakh on its second day and that takes its two day business to Rs 1.40 crore which isn’t a favourable number for the first weekend.

It is now clear that barring a miracle, Salman Khan's attempt at a love story has misfired. However, we hope for a better Sunday and shall bring you the update about the same. Meanwhile, Vidyut Jammwal jungle heroics have also not done too well in the first 2 days considering the fact that the film has been made on a budget of Rs 35-36 crore. So, far it has collected Rs 7.50 crore, with Saturday bringing in Rs 4.25 crore. This Chuck Russel film definitely needs larger footfalls in the next few days, else the stable Junglee Pictures which dished out films like Raazi and Badhaai Ho in the recent past will not be too proud of this one.
Notebook

SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated Junglee 2 stars and wrote in his review, “It's terribly boring from the first reel of the second half. Chuck Russell (director) doesn't know how to take Junglee forward in Vidyut Jammwal's quest of revenge and so the movie practically ends at the halfway mark. So you star squirming in your seat right after the interval, no matter if your plex has served you non-soggy popcorn for a change"
Junglee

On the other hand, he rated Notebook 3 stars and wrote, “This guy is not the simpleton Amol Palekar, but Notebook reminds you of the good, old days of Chitchor, Chhoti Se Baat and Baaton Baaton Mein, where love had depth and no expiry date, unlike today. So, I think Salman Khan should have introduced some other guy and kept Zaheer Iqbal in the reserves for any of his other films. Pranutan Bahl is cast perfectly and should go a long way. So much for the newbies and the film, concisely speaking. What's more?"

We assure that both the paries in question are praying fervently for cash registers to ring much louder today. We wish them all the best. Don't forget to read the the Sunday collection tomorrow on SpotboyE.com.
